Gujarat’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (Gujarat ATS), working with East Kutch police and the Special Operations Group, has arrested an alleged sharpshooter of the Rohit Godara–Naveen Boxer gang for his role in a sensational court‑complex murder in Haryana’s Bhiwani earlier this year. Officials said the accused, identified as Vikas alias Golu Sheoran from Kakroli village in Haryana, was traced to Rapar town in Gujarat’s Kutch district following specific intelligence about his movements and hideouts.

How Gujarat ATS tracked the suspect

Acting on a tip‑off that a wanted Haryana shooter was hiding in Kutch, Gujarat ATS began electronic and ground surveillance in Rapar and surrounding areas. Investigators eventually zeroed in on a house at Nageshwar Park in Rapar, where Sheoran was allegedly staying with an associate, Dinkesh Garg, who hails from Kaithal in Haryana and currently lives in Kutch.

A joint team from ATS and local police raided the premises and detained both men without any exchange of fire. After preliminary questioning at the Gujarat ATS office in Ahmedabad, officers confirmed that the man in custody was the same shooter named in a Bhiwani court‑premises murder case registered by Haryana Police.

According to ATS officials, Sheoran is described in police records as an active member of the Rohit Godara–Naveen Boxer gang, a syndicate suspected in several violent crimes across north India. The Bhiwani case relates to the killing of Lavjeet Kumar of Rohtak, who was gunned down at close range inside the court complex on September 4, in what investigators now say was a pre‑planned attack arising from inter‑gang rivalry.

Investigators allege that Sheoran and two associates, Ajay and Rohit, opened fire on Lavjeet using pistols supplied by Godara’s network, then fled the scene as panic spread through the court compound. A murder case was subsequently registered at the Bhiwani Police Lines station, and multiple members of the Godara–Boxer gang were booked under stringent sections for conspiracy and organised crime.

From Haryana safe houses to Kutch hideout

Following the Bhiwani shooting, Sheoran is believed to have gone underground in Haryana, shifting between safe houses provided by gang handlers to evade law‑enforcement agencies. As pressure mounted from Haryana’s Special Task Force (STF), the gang leadership allegedly instructed him to move out of the state, after which he travelled to Gujarat in November and began living with Dinkesh Garg in Rapar.

During interrogation, Garg reportedly admitted that he knew of Sheoran’s association with the Godara–Boxer gang and had agreed to shelter him after receiving directions from one of the gang leaders. Officials say they are now checking whether Garg offered any local logistical support to the gang or helped in moving weapons, money or other operatives through Kutch, which has key transport links.

Handover to Haryana STF and ongoing probe

Once Sheoran’s identity and his role in the Bhiwani case were confirmed, Gujarat ATS informed the Haryana STF and completed legal formalities for his custody transfer. Both Sheoran and Garg have now been handed over to the Haryana team for further interrogation, production before local courts and possible custodial remand under relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act. Officials say the focus of the continuing investigation is to map the broader operations of the Rohit Godara–Naveen Boxer syndicate, including its financing, weapon supply chains and use of inter‑state safe houses. Police in both states are also analysing call‑detail records and digital evidence to identify additional conspirators in the Bhiwani court killing and to prevent retaliatory violence linked to gang rivalries.
