A tragic accident early Friday morning on Khandwa Road near Tejaji Nagar, Indore, claimed the lives of three youths, including the daughter of former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Bala Bachchan. The deceased were returning home after attending a late-night birthday celebration when their speeding car lost control and rammed into a truck ahead of them. The impact was so severe that three of the four occupants died on the spot, while one young woman sustained critical injuries.
According to police reports, the accident occurred around 3:30 AM. The car, an SUV, was found crushed from the front. Inside, officers discovered several liquor bottles, disposable glasses, and soft drink bottles — indicating that the group had consumed alcohol while returning from the party. Eyewitnesses and initial investigation confirm that the vehicle was moving at a dangerously high speed, leading to the fatal collision.
The victims have been identified as Prerna Bachchan, daughter of Congress MLA and former Home Minister Bala Bachchan; Prakhar Kasliwal, son of state Congress spokesperson Anand Kasliwal; and Man Simran Sandhu, a young transporter. The fourth passenger, Anushka Rathi, daughter of retired CRPF ASP Anand Rathi, is battling for her life in a private hospital. Doctors have described her condition as critical but stable.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Krishnalal Chandani stated that the four friends were returning from “Coco Farm” near Ranamandal on Khandwa Road, where they had gathered to celebrate Prakhar’s birthday. After midnight, the group reportedly decided to drive back home. Around dawn, their car, driven by Man Simran, collided with the rear side of a loaded truck moving ahead of them.
The tragedy has shocked political and social circles across Madhya Pradesh, with several leaders expressing grief and extending condolences to the bereaved families. Preliminary investigations suggest that drunken driving and overspeeding were the primary causes of the accident.
Police have seized both vehicles and collected samples for forensic analysis to confirm alcohol levels. The incident is a harsh reminder of how reckless driving under the influence can destroy young lives in an instant.

पुलिस के अनुसार, हादसा शुक्रवार तड़के करीब साढ़े तीन बजे हुआ। चारों दोस्त खंडवा रोड स्थित रानामंडल के ‘कोको फार्म’ में प्रखर कासलीवाल का जन्मदिन मनाने के बाद अपनी कार से घर लौट रहे थे। रास्ते में तेज रफ्तार और नशे की हालत में कार असंतुलित होकर सामने जा रहे ट्रक के पिछले हिस्से से जा टकराई। टक्कर इतनी भीषण थी कि कार के आगे का हिस्सा बुरी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया।The Indian Express
दुर्घटनास्थल से पुलिस को शराब की कई बोतलें, डिस्पोजल गिलास और कोल्ड ड्रिंक की बोतलें मिलीं, जिससे स्पष्ट होता है कि पार्टी के दौरान और लौटते समय भी उन्होंने शराब का सेवन किया था। डीसीपी कृष्ण लालचंदानी ने बताया कि प्रारंभिक जांच में यह बात सामने आई है कि हादसे के समय वाहन की रफ्तार बहुत तेज थी और चालक ने नियंत्रण खो दिया था।
इस दर्दनाक हादसे ने न केवल इंदौर बल्कि पूरे प्रदेश में शोक की लहर फैला दी है। कांग्रेस नेताओं सहित कई सामाजिक संगठनों ने इस घटना पर गहरा दुख व्यक्त किया है और मृतकों के परिजनों को सांत्वना दी है। पुलिस ने दोनों वाहनों को जब्त कर लिया है और शराब सेवन की पुष्टि के लिए रासायनिक परीक्षण हेतु नमूने भेजे हैं।
