देवबंद (सहारनपुर)। रणखंडी रेलवे फाटक के पास शुक्रवार शाम दर्दनाक घटना घट गई, जब मां-बेटी ने ट्रेन के आगे कूदकर आत्महत्या करने का प्रयास किया। हादसे में बेटी की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई, जबकि मां को वहां मौजूद युवकों की सूझबूझ से बचा लिया गया।
जानकारी के अनुसार, लाजपत नगर कॉलोनी निवासी अमृत गंभीर की पत्नी विनोद गंभीर (68) और बेटी शिवाली (36) शाम करीब छह बजे सहारनपुर-Delhi रूट पर रणखंडी रेलवे फाटक के पास पहुंचीं। प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों ने बताया कि जैसे ही दिल्ली की ओर जाने वाली ट्रेन आई, दोनों ने अचानक पटरियों पर छलांग लगा दी।
ट्रेन की चपेट में आने से शिवाली की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई। वहीं, विनोद गंभीर को वहां मौजूद कुछ युवकों ने साहस दिखाते हुए खींचकर बचा लिया।
परिजनों के मुताबिक, मृतका शिवाली का कुछ समय पहले तलाक हो चुका था, जिसके चलते वह काफी तनाव में रहती थी। वहीं, मां विनोद गंभीर मानसिक रोग से पीड़ित बताई जा रही हैं।
घटना के बाद रेलवे फाटक क्षेत्र में हड़कंप मच गया। सूचना पाकर पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेजा। इस हृदयविदारक घटना से इलाके में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई है।

Deoband (Saharanpur): A tragic incident occurred near the Rankhandi railway crossing on Friday evening when a mother and daughter attempted to end their lives by jumping in front of a moving train. The daughter was killed instantly, while the mother was saved by a group of local youths.
According to reports, Vinod Gambhir (68) and her daughter Shivali (36), residents of Lajpat Nagar Colony, left their home with the intention of suicide. Around 6 p.m., as a train from Saharanpur to Delhi approached the Rankhandi railway crossing, both jumped onto the tracks.
Shivali died instantly after being struck by the train. However, in a dramatic turn of events, some nearby youths noticed the mother on the tracks and bravely pulled her away, saving her life.
Family members revealed that Shivali had been under immense mental stress following her recent divorce, which reportedly left her depressed. Her mother, Vinod Gambhir, is said to be a patient of mental illness, which may have also contributed to the decision to attempt suicide.
The shocking incident created panic at the railway crossing, with several locals gathering at the site. Police later arrived, took control of the situation, and sent Shivali’s body for post-mortem examination.
