बिजनौर जिले के धामपुर थाना क्षेत्र के गांव सुहागपुर स्थित देव अस्पताल में सोमवार दोपहर एक दिल दहला देने वाली घटना घटी। नहटौर क्षेत्र के मिर्जापुर गांव निवासी उसमान अहमद की 24 वर्षीय इकलौती बहन मुंतरीन ने एक सप्ताह पहले ऑपरेशन से बेटी को जन्म दिया था। बेटी पैदा होने पर नाराज पति वसीम और ससुराल वालों ने प्रसूता को जमकर पीटा। मायकेवाले मिलने पहुंचे तो उनके साथ भी मारपीट हुई, जिससे अस्पताल में काफी देर तक हंगामा मचा रहा।

मुंतरीन का निकाह एक वर्ष पहले उमरपुर पालकी गांव निवासी वसीम से हुआ था। देव अस्पताल में भर्ती प्रसूता ने बेटी जन्म दी, लेकिन ससुराल पक्ष बेटा न होने पर लगातार प्रताड़ित कर रहा था। सोमवार को मायकेवाले मुंतरीन से मिलने पहुंचे। अस्पताल स्टाफ ने वसीम पर पत्नी को परेशान करने का आरोप लगाया। पूछताछ पर वसीम ने ‘बेटी पैदा की है’ कहकर मुंतरीन से अभद्रता की और मारपीट शुरू कर दी। विरोध करने पर मायकेवालों से भी हाथापाई हुई। दोनों पक्षों में जमकर लात-घूंसे चले। पुलिस ने मौके पर पहुंचकर वसीम समेत लोगों को थाने ले जाया।

कोतवाली धामपुर प्रभारी मृदुल कुमारी ने बताया, “मायकेवालों ने तहरीर दी है जिसमें पति वसीम द्वारा बेटी जन्म पर प्रताड़ना और मारपीट का आरोप है। दोनों पक्षों के बयान दर्ज कर जांच की जा रही है। आवश्यक कार्रवाई की जाएगी।” मायकेवाले पुलिस से सख्त एक्शन की मांग कर रहे हैं।
