Lucknow, State Bureau. A major transformation is underway in Uttar Pradesh primary education. With NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) curriculum fully implemented in Classes 1-8 of government schools, the D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) syllabus will undergo complete revamp. SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training) has initiated the preparation process.

SCERT acknowledges practical difficulties faced by teachers trained on old patterns while teaching new NCERT books. Therefore, D.El.Ed curriculum is being updated to align with NCERT standards, modern pedagogy, and learning outcomes. From 2026-27 academic session, Class 4 will also adopt NCERT textbooks. Complete NCERT rollout across government schools in three years.

Revised draft under preparation emphasizes practical activities. Future teachers will master NCERT methodology comprehensively. Trainees from D.El.Ed colleges in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Meerut, Bareilly, Agra will benefit most. This aligns with National Education Policy 2020, ensuring quality education delivery.
